The Recaro Young Sport is made for toddlers between 1 to 12 years old who weigh between 20 to 80 pounds and are no taller then 59 inches.
This child car seat offers the newest innovation in safety technology. With features like energy absorbing foam, deep side wings and a fit that is specifically designed for children who meet the restrictions highlighted above. Another feature is the adjustable height which allows you to stay with the same seat for many years as your child grows. Add to this the fact that you can remove the 5 point safety harness and cushion to allow the car seat to be converted to a booster seat. The safety harness is also adjustable with three different positions.
The Side Impact Protection system in the Recaro Young Sport help protect your child in a side impact collision. Side impact collisions are blamed for 1 in 4 fatal motor vehicle accidents involving the death of a child. This involves the use of energy absorbing extra large head wings, a correctly shaped headrest, energy absorbing mid section support, structural support for hips and thighs and comfortable padding.
The headrest also adjusts to keep up with your child’s growth and to ensure that their head is cushioned in an impact.
The seat is covered with a microfiber material for extra comfort and durability.
There is also a recline position which allows your child more comfort on long journeys when they will inevitable (and hopefully) sleep for some time.
The latch system also comes with its own storage removing the mess of the belt laying around.

Some reviews also mention a faulty headrest. Apparently the foam in the head rest has crumbled after some time. This was mentioned in a less than 2% of reviews but something you should be aware if you will be purchasing this seat. From users comments the repair procedure appears to involve Recaro mailing replacements foam wings that are fixed to the seat with the use of a hot glue gun. I am sure that child car seat repair shops or an upholsterer can handle this for you. Or if you are handy with this sort of thing you could do it yourself. Once again something to be aware of as it may or may not eventuate if you purchase one of these car seats.
